The bad weather that has battered Portugal in recent weeks, particularly the Central region, has led the Torres Vedras City Council (CMTV) to postpone the Carnival celebrations that were scheduled for February 12 to 18.
Safety first

According to information available on the CMTVofficialwebsite, this was not an easy decision, but it was necessary due to the current situation in the municipality, one of 68 covered by the State of Calamity decreed by the Government.
In this regard, the main priority of the Torres Vedras local authority is the “recovery of the territory and support for families affected” by the cycle of storms.
There is an intention to hold the event.
Despite the decision now taken, CMTV’s intention is to “hold the event when and if conditions in the territory allow, on a date to be agreed.”
As for tickets, news will be shared as soon as possible on the official website and social media of the Torres Vedras Carnival.
