With just two weeks to go until Christmas, the Portuguese government has decided to grant workers in the public sector time off, which is valid for December 24th and 31st.
According to Diário de Notícias, the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, signed the decree approving the granting of time off this Wednesday, December 11.
According to the same source, this measure covers workers who work “in the State’s direct administration services, whether central or deconcentrated, and in public institutes“.
It should be noted that the Head of the Portuguese Government stressed the importance of maintaining this tradition, given that many Portuguese move away from their home area in order to be closer to family.
