Due to the tragic accident in the Glória Elevator, which has already killed 16 people, organizers EGEAC-Lisboa Cultura have decided to postpone the start of Festas na Rua in Lisbon to next Sunday, September 7, bringing together two major shows on the same day.
The month of September brings energy back to the city with the start of Festas na Rua, with free concerts, open-air cinema, unexpected performances and evenings illuminated by music and art in some of the capital’s most emblematic spaces, between September 7 and 21.
The program offers activities for all tastes, always with free admission and outdoors, inviting you to extend your summer in good company and with lots of fun.

Opening with Fernando Pereira
On September 7 (Sunday at 7pm), Fernando Pereira & The New Age Band present “MOMENTUM – do Vale até à Lua”, a show inspired by the total lunar eclipse scheduled for that night.

Vale do Silêncio: classical music and lunar show
In the evening, also on September 7 at 9:30 p.m., the 2025 Street Parties take place in Vale do Silêncio, in Chelas, which is transformed into a veritable natural amphitheater to welcome the Gulbenkian Choir and Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Pedro Neves, with pieces by Verdi, Wagner and Strauss II, Ennio Morricone and John Williams.

Jazz at dusk: Alfarrobeira Palace and Pimenta Palace
Festas na Rua also has a stage for jazz, in two intimate concerts in the late afternoon.
The first will take place on September 11, in São Domingos de Benfica, at the Alfarrobeira Palace, with the Funchal Jazz Orchestra, directed by Francisco and Alexandre Andrade, presenting a concert that will feature Madeiran guitarists Mano a Mano (Bruno and André Santos), who are celebrating a decade-long career and five albums.
On September 13, this time at the Palácio Pimenta , the acclaimed Hot Clube de Portugal Orchestra invites American saxophonist John O’Gallagher to the stage, reinforcing the link between the national and international jazz scenes.

Cinema at Estendal: award-winning short films in the open air
Neighborhood spirit takes on a new stage in Arroios with the return of Cinema no Estendal, on the steps of the Forno do Tijolo market:
- September 12: screening of four award-winning short films from the last edition of Queer Lisboa;
- September 13: special screening prepared by the O Pátio collective, with a surprise selection of short films.

Lisbon connects with Macau in Terreiro do Paço
Between September 17 and 21, Terreiro do Paço will host the “Let’s go to Macau!” initiative , which celebrates the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
For five days, the public will be able to attend concerts by Macanese and Portuguese artists such as Márcio Furtado, Don Fran, Born to Fail or Inês Coito, as well as the participation of fado singer Cuca Roseta.
The highlight comes at the official opening, with a drone and fireworks display over the Tagus, promising one of the most striking visual scenes of Lisbon’s late summer.

Festas na Rua in Lisbon is an invitation to rediscover the city through music, art and socializing in different public spaces.
September thus becomes a month of encounters, cultural celebrations and memorable summer evenings, in which Lisbon shows off the best of its talent and diversity.
