The São Vicente de Fora Monastery ‘s initiative is called “O Luar na Torre” (Moonlight on the Tower) and invites everyone to visit the monastery’s incredible terrace for one night, October 11, for just €2. There’s no need to register in advance, just show up!
This will be a unique and exclusive opportunity to admire the light of Lisbon, but this time during the night, which is also very beautiful.
A rare experience in the heart of Lisbon
This nocturnal experience will reveal one of the most inspiring views of the capital, where you can see the Tagus reflecting the light and the city’s rooftops gracefully illuminating themselves.
In the “Moonlight on the Tower” experience, which will take place only during the night of October 11, Saturday from 8pm to 11pm, you can go up to the terrace of the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora for just €2 (free entry for children up to 8 years old), and you don’t even need to book, which makes the whole event more spontaneous and accessible to everyone.
This is undoubtedly a unique moment of contemplation in Lisbon, which will allow you, from a viewpoint with a privileged view, to observe the city from an unusual angle, in a setting that involves walls, domes and, as you can feel, also the silence of the night, since in this area there is not that hustle and bustle of the city.
What you can admire
This important and emblematic Lisbon monastery is located in Campo de Santa Clara, where the weekly Feira da Ladra is held, and this evening you’ll be able to admire other places of interest up close, such as the National Pantheon, the houses of the Alfama neighborhood and, of course, our beloved Tagus River .
