The Popular Saints in Parque das Nações, better known as Arraial dos Navegantes, this year takes place between June 6 and 8, next to the Church of Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes.
It has been one of the most important festivals for the entire community of one of the city’s most modern neighborhoods.
For years, bonds have been forged, making Parque das Nações more and more a neighborhood in the true sense of the word, one that we like to identify with.
Residents, neighbors and shopkeepers are once again making arrangements for one of Lisbon’s most eagerly awaited festivals, the Santos Populares.
“Arraialito”
At the time of Lisbon’s Santos Populares, almost all the neighborhoods end up offering the same thing: music, lots of fun and, of course, food and drink, where sardines take pride of place.
At the Arraial dos Navegantes, however, there is one area that is of particular interest to the little ones: the “Arraialito”, an area where children can have fun with those their own age, has been confirmed for another year.
In this area, there will be a number of volunteers who, together with the children, will promote various recreational activities, so that they are always entertained with something to do and play.
3 days of fun
This year’s Arraial dos Navegantes will once again take place over three days and, as always, admission will be free, there will be plenty of seating and music and entertainment throughout.
A final note on the fact that this is one of the most sustainable festivals in Lisbon, as since its first edition it has always used reusable plastic cups, compostable plates, 100% recyclable plastic cutlery, food donations to ReFood, waste separation teams and the use of cooking oil.
