The iconic Rock in Rio music festival has already confirmed dates for its 11th edition in Lisbon, which will once again take place in Parque Tejo on June 20, 21, 27 and 28, 2026.
At a press conference for the media, several new features were also presented, from the expansion of the venue, which will be even bigger, to improved structures (more toilets and rest areas) and an even broader program.
Shall we take a look at all the new features?

The impact of the last edition
Before presenting the main novelties for Rock in Rio Lisboa 2026, the organization, in the person of Roberta Medina, reported some figures from the last edition, the first in Parque Tejo, after leaving Parque da Bela Vista, where MEO KALORAMA is now being held.
The 2024 edition had 300,000 visitors from 106 countries and generated an estimated economic impact of 120 million euros on the national economy, as well as 11.8 million euros in tax revenue.
The music festival, which also boosts sectors such as tourism, accommodation, catering and transport, is thus consolidated as one of the country’s main economic drivers, especially in terms of culture and entertainment.
Despite criticism of the infrastructure at the previous edition, the 2026 event will once again be held in Parque Tejo, and in order to improve the public’s experience, the organization has announced several changes:
- Expansion of the venue: the area will be increased by 12% to 145,000 square meters
- More comfort: a 40% increase in the number of toilets and a 30% expansion in the catering areas
- New attractions: an audiovisual show on the World Stage, an unprecedented “HalfTime Show” and interactive experiences
- Sustainability: partnerships for sustainable mobility and ecological practices at the venue

The organization is also preparing the internationalization of the festival with the “Road to Rock in Rio” campaign, through promotional actions in various cities in Europe and Portugal throughout 2025.
The “Road to Palco Mundo” will take signs of the iconic stage to different locations to share inspiring messages that will be displayed at the event.
All that remains to be seen is which other artists will take to the various stages at the next edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa 2026, because so far only Ivete Sangalo has been confirmed.
