There are many new culinary concepts that you can find in Lisbon, and eating in bowls seems to be one of those new trends!
Some of these spaces are so different that they abdicate the use of the traditional plate to make way for other more original alternatives, like these bowls full of good and healthy things.
Tjela
Located in Restelo and Estrela, Tjela’s spaces are dedicated to serving food exclusively in these nice and versatile containers.
With the mission of serving healthy food, these restaurants serve dishes based on rice or vegetables that are then complemented with options such as chicken teriyaki, avocado, salmon or sweet potato.
To maintain harmony, the desserts are also served in pots and the smoothies can be enjoyed in a glass or bowl.
Address: Rua Duarte Pacheco 26C (Restelo); Rua de Santo António à Estrela 136 (Estrela)
Poke House
In the middle of Chiado, and in many other places in the city, Poke House has been presenting, since 2017, a menu exclusively focused on healthy bowls.
The famous marinated fish salads with a rice base, of Hawaiian origin, take on a new life here, with various proposals centered on tuna and salmon, where you can choose the accompaniments, the sauce and even different bases.
If you prefer, you can also create your own poke and enjoy a very filling and tasty bowl.

Panda Cantina
In the heart of Lisbon’s downtown, but already in other locations in the capital, Panda Cantina has already become a place of pilgrimage for all fans of a good ramen.
Here the popular Asian noodles broth is offered in three options (beef, pork and tofu) and there is no doubt that it is very tasty comfort food.
It’s all homemade, it’s all delicious and it’s all to eat out of a suitcase! This was the our experience there… and it’s very spicy!
Address: Rua da Prata 252 (Baixa)
Chirashi
Although chirashi shares some similarities with poke, this Japanese specialty is different: in this dish the fish is sliced (just like in sashimi) and covers the sushi rice that serves as the base.
What’s more, there’s no need for sauces and everything is served as naturally as possible.
Chirashi, whose first space opened in Telheiras in 2015, is dedicated to these Japanese dishes.
Salmon, tuna, butterfish, fruit and lemon zest and ginger are some of the ingredients that make up these divine bowls.
