Lisbon was recently considered one of the best European cities for drinking beer. However, there is another ranking that deserves the attention of Lisboa Secreta’s editorial team, namely the list of the 20 funniest countries in the world, where Portugal stands out.
According to an analysis carried out by Remitly, which involved more than 6,000 participants from 30 countries, Portugal comes second in the top ranking for good humor. But what does this study consist of? And who tops the list?
The methodology applied
According to Remitly, the study was based on a series of questions from the Humour Styles Questionnaire, developed by Rod Martin, a psychologist specializing in humour, in 2003.
Considering this analysis, four dimensions were essentially addressed, which aim to assess not only whether someone is “funny”, but also how they use humor and the purpose it serves.
