The Lisbon Metro’s partial strike is scheduled for September 9 and 11, and will affect services during the morning, with the metro doors opening from 10.30am.
According to the management of Metropolitano de Lisboa, an attempt was made at the arbitration court to implement minimum services, but the court did not accept this.
Strike on September 9th and 11th
Therefore, on September 9 (Tuesday) and 11 (Thursday), the metro service will be interrupted between 5am and 10am for train drivers, while for other sectors, such as workshops and administrative staff, the stoppage will take place between 7am and 12pm, and between 7.30am and 12.30pm, respectively.
The workers are mainly demanding increases in meal, vacation and Christmas allowances, as well as changes to the maximum weekly working hours.

During the period leading up to the strike, Metropolitano de Lisboa has promoted, and will continue to promote, dialogue with the unions, with a view to reaching an understanding that will allow the strike to be suspended”.
Passengers are therefore advised to look for alternative ways of getting around before 10.30am.
