Specializing in Thai cuisine, Mixed Martial Rice is once again organizing the Pad Thai Festival in Lisbon, the result of last year’s huge success.
The São Domingos de Benfica Market is once again hosting this gastronomic event, which celebrates one of the most iconic dishes of this Asian cuisine, Pad Thai, which, from October 1 to November 11, will offer three new versions at a very special price of €9.50, while the usual price is €14.
Shall we get to know the new flavors?
Tofu, beef and spicy cashew
In addition to the traditional versions of Pad Thai, with tamarind sauce, red curry or Rainbow (vegetarian/vegan), you’ll be able to try three new very interesting and different recipes :
- Smoked Tofu and Mushroom Pad Thai
- Beef and Broccoli Pad Thai
- Spicy Cashew Pad Thai
For Nuno Colaço, owner of Benfica’s best-known Thai restaurant,
Delicious and full of flavors, with a history dating back to the period of the great recession of the last century, Pad Thai is the dish most cherished by the Thais and has already won the hearts of many around the world. At Mixed Martial Rice, Pad Thai is king and deserves a celebration to match, and for over a month it will be the star of our space.”
Other surprises, and some bestsellers
The second edition of the Pad Thai Festival, supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), will also offer other typical Thai delicacies, some of them bestsellers at Nuno Colaço’s restaurant, such as Tom Yum soup (prawn broth with a sweet, citrusy and slightly spicy flavor), or the delicious mini Thai Satai dishes (prawn or chicken) cooked on a griddle and served with a creamy spicy peanut sauce.
To wash it all down, there’s nothing better than the traditional Thai Singha Beer or, if you prefer something more classic, the no less fresh and light Stella Artois, both ideal to accompany spicy meals.
But drinks such as rosé wine sangria, the tropical fruit ” Bloody Hell” (exclusive to Mixed Martial Rice) or even the “Thai Pearl” cocktail are very appealing suggestions.
The party that comes to your house
Okay, you’d love to go, but you can’t! No problem because you can take the Pad Thai Feast to your home by ordering through Uber Eats… and best of all, it’s the same price as the restaurant, €9.50.
