Óbidos is considered one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Europe, with an impressive castle to say the least. But it is also preparing to become a gastronomic destination with the 21st edition of the Óbidos International Chocolate Festival.
Between March 21 and April 6, from Friday to Sunday, the charming town promises to be one of the destinations of choice for the sweet tooth. This year’s theme is “Science”. The aim is to explore the relationship between the scientific sector and chocolate, taking into account the transformation of cocoa and beyond.
What to expect at the International Chocolate Festival?
Bonbons, dragees, cakes, bars and more will delight kids and adults alike at an event aimed at the whole family.
The program is also diverse, with the presence of national and international chefs such as Bruno Santos, Joel Simões and Jordi Farrés, who will be creating chocolate sculptures.
In addition, there are several scheduled workshop sessions (with options for a children’s audience included) and showcookings, not to mention competitions covering, for example:
- Chocolate Rising Star 2025 – aimed at new talent;
- Best Chocolate Product 2025
- Chocolate Wedding Cake Star 2025, among others.
