Lisbon is full of museums for all tastes, regardless of age or time of year. Now it has just gained a new attraction that promises to challenge the logic of perception: the Museu das Ilusões (or Museum of Illusions, as the space is presented on its official website ).
Located on Rua Ivens, in the Chiado area, nothing is as it seems. The aim is to provide a true edutainment experience through interactive illusions that stimulate visitors’ creativity.
What will you find at the Museum of Illusions?
In all, the space has 600 square meters and more than 20 installations, inviting kids and adults to explore optical illusions, rooms that defy the laws of gravity and exhibitions.
The total experience lasts around 45 minutes and can be enjoyed with friends or on a family outing . There are many highlights, but we’d like to highlight the following:
- Infinity Room: where mirrors create the illusion of infinite space
- Ames Room: which alters the perception of size
- Vortex Tunnel: which challenges visitors’ balance
- Cloning Table, among others.
