The magnificent Monastery of São Vicente de Fora has a new nighttime attraction, but only for a limited time.
The latest initiative, which takes place every year and now joins so many other experiences at this monastery, is called “Moonlight on the Tower” and invites everyone to visit the monastery’s incredible terrace for two nights, June 20 and 27, for just €2.
These dates will be unique and exclusive opportunities to admire the lights of Lisbon, but this time at night, which is also very beautiful.
A rare experience in the heart of Lisbon

This nighttime experience will reveal one of the most inspiring views of the capital, where you can see the Tagus reflecting the city lights and the rooftops of Lisbon gracefully illuminated.
During the “Moonlight on the Tower” experience, which will take place on the evenings of June 20 and 27 (Saturdays), from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., you can go up to the terrace of the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora for just €2 ( free admission for children up to 8 years old), and you don’t even need to make a reservation, which makes the whole event more spontaneous and accessible to everyone.
This is, without a doubt, a unique moment of contemplation in Lisbon, which will allow you, from a viewpoint with a privileged view, to observe the city from an unusual angle, in a setting surrounded by walls, domes, and, as you will feel, the silence of the night, since this area is free from the city’s hustle and bustle.
What you’ll be able to admire

From this important and iconic Lisbon monastery, located in Campo de Santa Clara —where the Feira da Ladra flea market is held weekly — you’ll be able to get a closer look at other points of interest on these nights, such as the National Pantheon, the houses of the Alfama neighborhood, and, of course, our beloved Tagus River.
