The Portuguese pay a lot of attention to the space where they spend the most time, and the latest trend is to make their homes fresh and green. 🪴🎍
Confinement has sparked a new hobby among the Portuguese: transforming the place where they live into a greener, more environmentally friendly place.
If you’re also looking to make your home environment fresher and healthier, these are the 5 stores where you can start buying all kinds of indoor plants, always with the advice of professionals and with the plants delivered to your home.
1 – Urban Jungle
Urban Jungle started online, but this year it opened a physical store in Mafra. It’s a real Urban Jungle store, considered by plant influencers to be one of the trendiest places in the country when it comes to indoor plants, pots and accessories.
In this store you’ll find selected plants, mostly of tropical origin, and some of the most sought-after rare species.
2 – Plantalomas
Plantalomas also flourished during the first lockdown, when Ana Machado felt the need to make the house a more pleasant place.
Since February, it has been online, where it sells various species, from succulents to air purifiers and animal-friendly plants, among others. She sends her plants all over the country and makes free deliveries in the Cascais area.
3 – Sítio das Plantas
At Sítio das Plantas you’ll find several species of indoor plants, some of which, such as cacti, don’t need regular care, perfect for those who are away from home for a long time.
The online store is temporarily closed, but you can find their nursery in Aveiras de Cima. They deliver to Greater Lisbon and Santarém, offering postage for purchases over €35.
4 – Horto do Campo Grande
Founded in 1979, Horto do Campo Grande is today one of the largest and most prestigious gardening companies in the country, with three garden centers, two stores and its own nurseries.
They deliver plants free of charge to Lisbon, Sintra and Fernão Ferro, for purchases starting at 25 euros.
5 – Loja Verde Flora
Like other online plant stores, this is a project born out of last year’s lockdown. Gisela, the store’s owner, aims to bring more color into people’s lives and plants can be the first step towards that goal.
At Verde Flora, as well as plants, you can order pots and many accessories, with delivery in mainland Portugal. If you’d like to meet her, Gisela can deliver to the Leiria area.
