Tomorrow, May 23rd (Friday), the subway strike begins, and it could last for 30 days.
Workers on the city’s means of transportation are demanding overtime, as well as additional work for special events, such as those that will soon be taking place in the capital: we’re talking about the Women’s Champions League Final, on Saturday, May 24; and, of course, the parties and festivities at Santos Populares.
There could be even more days
We also know that, if this first 30-day strike doesn’t take effect, it could be renewed for the same period.
It is therefore expected
- longer than normal waiting times
- delays in train maintenance
- traffic disruptions, especially on busy days
- opening hours may be affected
The transport company recommends that its customers start planning alternative journeys, especially on the days of these events or at times of peak demand.
