All the artists set to perform at this year’s Coala Festival have now been confirmed , in an announcement also made to introduce the Super Bock Club electronic stage, which once again returns to this music event that brings together three continents.
Before we move on to the news regarding this electronic music stage, we’d like to remind you that the organizersof the first summer festival had already announced the lineup for each of the two days, May 30 and 31, at the Manuel Possolo Racetrack in Cascais, and all the artists set to perform at this year’s Coala Festival have now been confirmed .
Among the latest confirmations, we highlight the presence of Zé Ibarra, Zeca Veloso, and a special performance by Portuguese producer Branko, who will take the stage with a special appearance by the trio Tuyo. A few days earlier, two new artists had already been announced —Marina Sena and Ana Frango Elétrico— who join the previously confirmed lineup of Caetano Veloso, Slow J, Bonga, Lulu Santos, and João Gomes.
The Coala Festival in Portugal will, once again, bring together the vibrant cultures of three different Portuguese-speaking countries across three continents: Europe, the Americas, and Africa.
If you’re also a fan of the musical culture experienced and shared across these continents and countries, the announcement of the first artists also marks the start of Batch 1 ticket sales, which also include discounts:
- 10% for Revolut customers if they pay for tickets with Revolut Pay;
- €20 cashback for new Revolut customers who also use Revolut Pay.
All generations on stage
The confirmations of Caetano Veloso and João Gomes for the upcoming Coala Festival confirm that this is an event designed for all ages, from eight to eighty.
Caetano Veloso needs no introduction, being considered one of the greatest voices in Brazilian popular music, continuing to captivate different generations with his incredible renditions of various hits known to the general public. At Coala Festival Brasil 2025, the artist gave an unforgettable concert, which everyone hopes will be repeated now in Lisbon, with a show featuring timeless songs and classics.
Representing “the younger crowd,” Pernambuco native João Gomes, the big winner of a Latin Grammy, brings to the Coala Festival the authenticity of Piseiro, the musical and dance style for which this artist became known, blending this very regional genre with contemporary sounds.
Slow J, Bonga, and Lulu Santos were the first confirmed headliners for what will be a historic gathering of generations and Portuguese-speaking rhythms at the upcoming Coala Festival at the end of May.
In one of the celebrations of Portuguese-speaking cultural identity that brings together names defining the past, present, and future of global music, the lineup for the third edition of the Coala Festival highlights the diversity of rhythms and the political depth of artists who have shaped musical aesthetics across three continents.
All confirmations

The acclaimed Rio de Janeiro-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Zé Ibarra arrives in Cascais for a highly anticipated performance at the Coala Festival, bringing with him his recently released second solo album, “Afim.” Marking an aesthetic and emotional turning point in his career, Ibarra promises to deliver a visceral and multifaceted show to the Portuguese audience. The new tour is a celebration of the contemporary soundscape, where the artist weaves a musical tapestry that fuses the roots of MPB with the textures of jazz, progressive rock, and pop. In addition to his original compositions, the concert stands out as a showcase of current Brazilian talent, paying tribute to and reinterpreting works by voices of the new generation, such as Dora Morelenbaum, Sophia Chablau, and Tom Veloso.
The Coala Festival stage is also preparing to welcome an injection of pure musical creativity with new performances by Zeca Veloso and Portuguese producer Branko, a true testament to the vitality of cultural exchange between Brazil and Portugal.
On one hand, heritage and renewal come together in Zeca Veloso’s “Boas Novas” tour. The artist promises an intimate and captivating musical journey, crafting a setlist that blends songs from his debut album with brand-new compositions. The show takes on an even deeper dimension by revisiting prestigious collaborations with his musical lineage: Caetano Veloso, Moreno Veloso, and Tom Veloso.
On the other end of the musical spectrum, Branko amps up the energy with a show centered on his latest collaboration with the Brazilian trio Tuyo (Lio, Lay, and Machado). The driving force behind this partnership is the single “Pro Mundo Ouvir,” a track from the album Soma that solidifies the creative bridge between Portugal and Brazil.

Marina Sena and Ana Frango Elétrico were among the other acts confirmed for this festival; the former will kick off her tour based on the album “Coisas Naturais” (from 2025); the latter will close out the acclaimed world tour “Me Chama de Gato Que Eu Sou Sua,” following more than 50 concerts across Europe and Japan.
The Coala Festival, by day

May 30 – Main Stage
Caetano Veloso
The master of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) promises a historic performance in Cascais, proving himself to be the Coala Festival Portugal’s biggest draw . At 83 years old and in the midst of celebrating his career, the Brazilian icon will take center stage at the event.
Slow J
The Portuguese-Angolan rapper and producer, today the most influential voice in new Portuguese music, presents the acclaimed “Afro Fado” project in a show that is a visceral fusion of contemporary beats and the roots that unite Lisbon and Luanda.
Bonga
At 82, the “ambassador of semba” brings the weight of history to the Coala Festival. An activist and symbol of Angola’s independence, the creator of the iconic Angola 72 proves that his artistic vitality remains intact after a four-decade career and nearly 40 albums released.
Branko with Tuyo
Born out of the need to recapture the “studio energy,” as Branko emphasizes, the song delves into the pain and resolution of a breakup. According to Lay, the track explores “the beginning and end of a feeling,” resulting in a perfect alchemy where raw and emotional lyrics, wrapped in complex vocal layers, blend masterfully with the Portuguese producer’s unmistakable electronic beats.
Zeca Veloso
The golden legacy of Brazilian music is confirmed at Coala Festival with Zeca Veloso, who takes the stage to share with the audience his latest tour, the intimate and highly anticipated “Boas Novas.” In a show that promises to be a profound journey through his roots and musical future, the artist has crafted a rich and multifaceted setlist. There’s no doubt that what sets this festival apart from all others is its musical curation, which gives it a unique identity, in contrast to other more generalist music events featuring widely disparate genres.
With a lineup of artists curated jointly by Gabriel Andrade, the festival’s founding partner, and Kalaf Epalanga, the acclaimed Angolan musician and writer, the Coala Festival embraces a concept that transcends borders, bringing together the sister nations of Portugal, Brazil, and the African continent, helping to foster “new musical dialogues” while celebrating music in the Portuguese language.
Now that two new names have been announced for the lineup of the 3rd edition of the Coala Festivalin Cascais, we’d like to highlight some of the bands and artists who have previously graced its stage and serve as a guarantee of quality: Gilberto Gil, Ney Matogrosso, BK’, Liniker, Carminho, António Zambujo, Mayra Andrade, among others.
This mix of styles, ranging from Samba to Fado, through Afrobeat and Hip-hop, creates a unique atmosphere that you’ll hardly find at other summer festivals in Europe.
