While you wait for the Lisbon Book Fair, scheduled for May 27 to June 14 at Parque Eduardo VII, you can take the opportunity to explore events dedicated to the world of reading in Greater Lisbon, such as the Loures Literary Festival. With free admission, the 2nd edition of the initiative is scheduled for February 26 to March 1 at the Portela Shopping Center.
Curated by illustrator André Letria, the program was designed with all ages in mind, bringing together big names in the arts and letters, with inspiring conversations and performances. Highlights of the program include familiar faces such as Luísa Sobral, Samuel Úria, Ana Markl, and Sam The Kid, among others.
A brief look at the program

The first two days of the Loures Literary Festival are dedicated to schools in this municipality of Greater Lisbon. In this sense, the grand kick-off of the program is scheduled for February 28 (Saturday), including some of the following moments:
- 3:00 p.m. – “The Secret Life of Words”: conversation between Marco Neves and Ana Markl
- 5:00 p.m. – interview with Luísa Sobral
- 7:00 p.m. – readers’ meeting
- 9:00 p.m. – musical moment
On March 1 (Sunday), at 3 p.m., there will be a conversation between two prominent names in national culture: Samuel Úria and Sam The Kid. Then , at 5 p.m., Francisca Gama and Joana Bértholo will talk about the power of fiction in translating time.
In parallel, the Loures Literary Festival also offers activities for children and families, such as workshops, story time, and more.
