Mainland Portugal is being affected by the adverse conditions caused by the passage of the Kristin depression, with at least 1,500 incidents recorded between midnight and 8 a.m. on Wednesday (January 28).
Two fatalities, fallen trees, power outages, and the suspension of rail traffic on several routes across the country are some of the consequences of the bad weather.
Trains between Lisbon and Porto suspended

According to information on the official website of CP – Comboios de Portugal, traffic on the Northern Line between Porto and Lisbon for long-distance and regional trains is suspended.
However, this is not the only disruption reported, as traffic is also suspended on the “Douro Line – between Régua and Tua, the Beira Alta and Beira Baixa Lines, the Southern Line, the Western Line, and the Sintra/Azambuja Line: Alverca/Sintra Family.”
Two fatalities confirmed
According to SIC Notícias, the Portuguese government has confirmed two fatalities due to the passage of storm Kristin. The first death was recorded in Vila Franca de Xira (Lisbon district), as a result of a falling tree. The second victim died due to the collapse of a metal structure in Monte Real, in the district of Leiria.
