Used to thrilling audiences, Il Divo ‘s talent and passion for music will once again serve as a ‘pretext’ for a reunion with the Portuguese public. To celebrate their 20-year career and in the wake of the release of their latest album “XX”, Il Divo are returning to the national stage with two concerts.
In a statement sent to Lisboa Secreta, Live Nation said that the pioneering classic crossover group will perform at the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon on July 15, and then head to Porto, where they will take to the stage at the Coliseu Porto Ageas on July 16.
As part of the “XX, 20th Anniversary Tour” world tour, fans of the quartet can expect some of their classics, but also the new interpretations that make up the band’s new chapter.
The “XX” album stands out for its musical diversity, featuring unreleased versions of “Despacito”, “Always On My Mind”, “Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti” and “Crazy”. In addition, this work marks the debut of Steven LaBrie as an official member of the group, following the sad loss of Carlos Marín, who passed away in 2021.
We are simultaneously celebrating twenty years of Il Divo, twenty years of making music together. And, of course, with the unimaginable happening with the loss of Carlos due to COVID and the entry of Steven Labrie, who is now the new member. There’s so much happening on this album,” say the band members, quoted in the press release.
Tickets for the Il Divo concert in Lisbon will go on sale on March 14 at 10am. But for those interested, the pre-sale will take place on March 12 at 10am.
