Who said that Metro stations only serve as a point of departure and arrival for passengers? The 4th edition of the cycle of free concerts “There’s Music at the End of the Tunnel” shows precisely the opposite.
So don’t be surprised if you “find” live music echoing through some stations on the Lisbon network, in an initiative that arrives in the capital on October 24 and 25.
But what is “Há Música ao Fundo do Túnel” anyway?
The month of World Mental Health Day sees the announcement of the 4th edition of “Há Música ao Fundo do Túnel”, an initiative of the Ministry of Health’s National Coordination of Mental Health Policies, which works to promote mental health.
In this context, some Metro stations in Lisbon and Porto will be “invaded” by this cycle of free concerts .
In Porto, “Há Música ao Fundo do Túnel” comes to town on October 21 and 22, while Lisbon hosts the initiative on October 24 and 25.
The stage stations in Lisbon
The list of musicians and bands has already been drawn up, as have the stations where the concerts will take place.
On the Lisbon Metro network, “Há Música ao Fundo do Túnel” will take place at Cais do Sodré, Marquês de Pombal and Jardim Zoológico stations.
What is the reason for “Há Música ao Fundo do Túnel”?
Há Música ao Fundo do Túnel came about with the aim of alerting the general population to the importance of taking care of themselves and promoting their well-being,” the organization said in a statement.
In all, the initiative includes several concerts over four days, spread across six metro stations in the country’s two largest cities.
Like last year, the event will once again feature Solidarity Galas, this time two: the first in Barcelos, at the S. Bento Menni Auditorium, on October 19 at 9pm:
- Samuel Úria
- Best Youth
- Radio Voices
And a second, in Lisbon, at Teatro Maria Matos, on October 29 at 9pm:
- Rita Redshoes
- Luísa Sobral
- Lura
Tickets cost €15 and can already be purchased at the usual venues.
