The Italian flavors rule the hearts (and stomachs) of many. And you don’t even have to leave Lisbon to eat at one of the best pizzerias in the world: Forno D’Oro.
The restaurant, owned by renowned chef Tanka Sapkota, was recently distinguished by Top Pizza World, appearing in the 73rd position. However, this is not the first time it has appeared in this prestigious guide, as last year it came 80th.
This means that Forno D’Oro has risen seven places in this ranking, and is also the only Portuguese representative worldwide.
Alongside this distinction, the Lisbon restaurant had already been recognized in May as the 12th best pizzeria in Europe.
What do people say about Forno d’Oro?
On the website of the famous Top Pizza you can read the following about the Portuguese pizzeria:
It produces Neapolitan and modern school pizzas. (…) Whether you choose the classics, the seasonal ones, or those inspired by Portuguese cuisine for your toppings, each slice will be a pleasure for the palate.”
The same text also highlights the fact that the dough is “soft and well risen”, as well as “the edges of the crust” being surrounded by “balanced, perfectly cooked” toppings. Also worthy of special mention is the warm service.
