Father’s Day is always a very special date, so it’s only natural that you’re looking for plans and experiences to surprise your everyday hero.
A companion in many games and adventures, Dad is always our first role model. He’s the person who’s always looking for places to have fun as a family.
So don’t forget to return the love and surprise your dad with one of these Father’s Day plans on this special day.
We’ve got some ideas! We hope you like them, and that your dad does too!
Brunch with dad
You can start the day with brunch in one of the many cafés dotted around the city.
There are always dishes and specialties to suit all tastes, but we’ve been informed of three places that could be excellent options for this special day:
-
Mama Shelter
- on March 23rd, between 12pm and 4pm, the restaurant will serve a delicious and varied buffet, ideal for creating memorable family moments, as well as an exclusive Mimosa and Bellini Bar;

Play minigolf
There’s a place in Lisbon that’s ideal for catching up on some laughs with a game of mini-golf that you’ll love.
Indoor MiniGolf Lisboa is one of the latest experiences you can have in Lisbon and, as the name suggests, it doesn’t matter if it’s cold or raining outside because this is an indoor space where you can have fun with your dad.
Address: Calçada Ferragial 8 (Chiado/Corpo Santo)
Opening hours: every day from 12pm to 11pm
Tickets: at Fever
Family lunch
Lisbon has several restaurants suitable for the whole family, but there are two that we really like: one for its croquettes and the other because it has the best roast chickens in town.
We’re talking about the restaurants Tico Tico, in Alvalade, and Valenciana, in Campolide, respectively.
Boat trip on the Tagus
After lunch, how about a sunset boat trip on our Tagus River?
It’s a spectacular plan, where you can take the opportunity to talk about whatever you want, while sailing and enjoying Lisbon from another perspective.
Address: Cais da Ribeira das Naus (Cais do Sodré)
Opening times: every day at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets: at Fever
Wine tasting with snacks
Our penultimate suggestion for Father’s Day plans is this wine tasting, which takes place every day at From The Vine – Wine Tasting Bar.
This tasting takes place in Lisbon’s first and only wine bar dedicated to wine tastings, and is accompanied by some snacks.
Address: Travessa do Fala-Só 15C
Opening hours: every day
Tickets: at Fever
Listening to Fado in the street
On March 19, Father’s Day, the sound of Fado will take over the streets of downtown Lisbon in a performance by the prestigious fado singer António Pinto Basto and his son Gustavo.
This is an initiative by the Baixa Pombalina Dynamization Association (ADBP) to mark Father’s Day and promote Baixa-Chiado as a destination for meetings, culture and tradition in a year when there is once again talk of Baixa’ s application to become a UNESCO heritage site.
Starting at 15:00, the itinerant concert will pass through five points of the Baixa-Chiado and is scheduled to end at 17:30:
- 15h – Rua 1° de Dezembro / Rua do Carmo
- 15:30 – Rua da Vitória and Rua do Ouro intersection
- 16h – Rua Augusta
- 16h30 – Rua da Prata and Rua da Assunção intersection
- 17h – Rossio
