Between February 28 and March 1, Chef Celso Padeiro brings the flavors of Montalegre to a lunch that celebrates the world’s agricultural heritage.
On the last weekend of February, the Varanda de Lisboa restaurant is promoting a total immersion in the flavors of Barroso, with a special edition of Cozido de Barrosão, which is the result of an expedition by the Chef’s team to the Montalegre region, where they immersed themselves in the local culture and selected certified producers.
What to expect from this menu

Lunch begins with some regional starters, with grilled alheira sausage and sliced ham from Trás-os-Montes.
Then comes the authentic stew, made exclusively with meats and sausages from Barroso, such as pumpkin chouriça, sangueira, and suã bones, accompanied by IGP potatoes and tronchuda cabbage from the region.
For dessert, French toast with heather honey wrapped in syrup.
As this is an immersive event, the entire experience takes place at the table, with service provided on a trolley, encouraging sharing and repetition in a leisurely lunch atmosphere .
This initiative does not replace the usual Thursday stew, but rather serves as an extension that honors the origins of the dish.
