As part of the April Festivities, Praça do Município will be the stage for a tribute to Carlos Paredes, a major figure in Portuguese guitar and a symbol of freedom, who celebrates the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2024.
The “Variações Sobre Paredes” concert will take place on April 27 at 7pm and promises to be an unprecedented spectacle of music and image. Best of all, it will be free.
The tribute to Carlos Paredes will be the last moment of the April Festivities, celebrating the Carnation Revolution and Paredes’ connection to the city of Lisbon, the source of inspiration for much of his work.
The most visual part of this show will be in charge of António Jorge Gonçalves, who will paint and draw live, with the images projected onto a large screen, creating a dialog between sound and image during the performance.
