The Christmas Market at the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara takes place every year, but this year there’s a big surprise in this neighborhood: for the first time, Bairro Alto will have its streets lit up between December 25 and January 6.
Organized once again by the Commercial and Business Association of Bairro Alto, which this year celebrates its 511th anniversary with even more Christmas spirit with the new Christmas illuminations in the streets of this typical Lisbon neighbourhood.
An even more spirited neighborhood
With the aim of “attracting” more people to the neighborhood to enjoy the traditional local commerce, the Christmas decorations and lights invite you to spend more time in the stores, restaurants, cafés and bars. But there are other incredible attractions.
On November 25, at 8pm, a huge 11-meter Christmas tree will be inaugurated, followed by a visit to the other illuminations in the streets of the district.
The Christmas Market at the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara will have a program for the whole family, between December 1 and January 6, and will feature fado nights on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, as well as other musical attractions, for the duration of the Christmas market.
Of course, Santa’s House will also be a presence, which is sure to please all the children and visitors to the neighborhood, who on December 20, at 11am, will be able to attend a concert with Avô Cantigas.
