As Christmas approaches , the search for last-minute presents and preparations for Christmas Eve intensify . At the same time, there are more and more initiatives for kids and adults, such as the 2nd edition of the Christmas Car Train, which will ‘invade’ the streets of Lisbon this Saturday, December 20.
For the second year running, dozens of vehicles illuminated with Christmas lights will unite in a real solidarity train on wheels, all with a common goal: to raise donations for the Vítor Reis Morais Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting young people in difficult social contexts.
According to a press release sent to Lisboa Secreta, the organization informs that “the departure takes place at Largo da Luz, in a symbolic moment marked by the delivery of the donations raised to the Vítor Reis Morais Foundation”.
It should also be noted that, according to the Christmas Car Train’s social networks, this year the initiative will be extended to the city of Braga, where the contributions will go to the Padre David Social Center and the São Cateano College.
What to expect from the Christmas Car Train in Lisbon?

As for the route, the parade of illuminated cars will pass through various points, such as Jardim da Luz, Campo Grande, Campo Pequeno, Saldanha, Marquês de Pombal, Avenida da Liberdade, Rossio and Restauradores, culminating in Praça do Comércio. Here, from 8.15 p.m., various surprises are planned, including shows and music.
The Christmas Car Train is a 100% charity event that encourages the donation of clothes in good condition, school supplies, hygiene products and other basic necessities. Over the next few days, donations can be delivered to the Remax Vantagem Metro store (Benfica), the MHM Hair Studio and the O Trabalho café (Amadora), the Arting Studio (Olivais) and the Dona Maria Bakery (Sintra).
