Work on the modernization of the Cascais Line, as well as work on the Lisbon Metro, has led CP – Comboios de Portugal to limit journeys between Cais do Sodré and Algés stations at night, between 10pm and 5am, in April and May. This interruption to the Cascais Line will take place from April 7 until May, but the specific day is not yet known.
The public transport company also indicates that, on this same stretch between Cais do Sodré and Algés, there will be a total stoppage of traffic between 10pm on April 25 and 5am on April 28.
Between May 2 and 5, at the same time, this same interruption should take place.
Buses will be the alternative
During these periods, the note sent to Lusa also indicates that CP will provide a replacement road service to minimize the impact on passengers.
This service includes an alternative route on Carris buses with departures and arrivals between Cais do Sodré and Algés: departures from the dedicated CP stop at Cais do Sodré, Praça Duque da Terceira, via 24 Julho/Avenida da Índia, with stops at Santos, Alcântara-Mar and Belém, with arrivals and departures in Algés at Largo da Estação.
The Carris routes that can be used to travel near CP stations are: 15E, 751, 714, 728, 727, 732, 201 (early morning network), and from Algés/Belém to the city center 723, 729, 750, 751, 727, 728.
All the alternative journeys can be expected to take considerably longer, given the traffic conditions.
