Lisbon still has one last night to look forward to. On June 26, Matias Damásio takes the stage at the Jardins da Torre de Belém for the closing concert of the Festas de Lisboa. Admission is free, with special guests and a fireworks display along the Tagus River to bring the night to a spectacular close.
Angola in the Heart of Belém
A native of Benguela and one of the most beloved voices in the Portuguese-speaking world, Matias Damásio revisits the greatest hits of his career tonight. Starting at 9:30 p.m., the stage at the Belém Tower Gardens will also welcome guests Rita Guerra, Ivandro, and Héber Marques—artists who, together, chart a musical journey between Portugal and Angola.
The audience will be invited to sing and dance to the sounds of “Loucos, ” “Pelos Cantos do Mundo, ” “Como Antes,” and many other songs on a night that promises to unite—as the spirit of these celebrations dictates—the Angolan heart with the Portuguese soul.
The closing ceremony takes place literally under the open sky: the evening culminates with a fireworks display on the banks of the Tagus—the most quintessentially Lisbon-style farewell to a month that won’t be easily forgotten.
How to get there
For those using public transportation, Carris will be increasing service in the Belém area that day, with the 15E route running between 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. to make it easier to get to the Belém Tower Gardens.

The Lisbon Festivities end on the 26th, but the festive spirit doesn’t have to fade. CineConchas returns to the Quinta das Conchas Garden between June 25 and July 11, with nine nights of outdoor cinema on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, always at 9:45 p.m. The lineup, with free admission, includes action, animated, comedy, and drama films—from Jafar Panahi to Joachim Trier—curated by the Musgueira Social Center. Bringing a blanket is recommended.
