For those who don’t like to miss the best of Lisbon’s cultural agenda, here’s a tip: the return of ARCOlisboa. Between May 29 and June 1, the 8th edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair will be held with the participation of more than 80 galleries from 17 countries.
Cordoaria, in the Belém area, has been chosen as the venue for what is recognized as one of the most important meeting points for collectors, artists and professionals in the sector. Portugal will be represented by 30 galleries.
Of particular note is the participation of Duarte Sequeira (Braga) and ADZ gallery (Lisbon), both first-timers at ARCOlisboa. At the same time, there are some ‘repeaters’, such as the galleries Bruno Múrias, Cristina Guerra, Pedro Cera, Vera Cortês and more.
The International Contemporary Art Fair is divided into three main sections:
- General Program (the core of the event) – with 61 galleries
- Opening Lisboa – with 18 galleries
- The Shapes of the Ocean – dedicated to the African continent and its diaspora.
In parallel, there is a complementary program with visits to exhibitions, openings, book launches, talks, debates and more. Various prizes will also be awarded, such as the Armando Martins Museum of Contemporary Art Acquisition Prize, among others.
ARCOlisboa is organized by IFEMA Madrid, in close collaboration with Lisbon City Council.
