Every year, tradition is still what it used to be and Lisbon’s Marchas Populares parade down Avenida da Liberdade to celebrate the night of Santo António, one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the Lisbon Festivities.
This year, the Alcântara and Bairro Alto Marches were the big winners of the Lisbon Popular Marches Competition 2025, with the Bica March ‘closing’ the podium in third place.
Classifications of the Lisbon Popular Marches
According to the officialwebsite of the Empresa de Gestão de Equipamentos e Animação Cultural (EGEAC), thousands of people gathered to watch the parade, which brought together more than 1,800 participants.
