The revolution of April 25, 1974, which removed Portugal from dictatorial rule and established a democratic regime, was historic, and there are six films about April 25 that prove it.
Not only because of the results it achieved, but also because it was peaceful, our revolution also made headlines in several other countries.
In addition to the Portuguese, many foreign filmmakers and journalists were in the country and ended up recording the moment.
As with most historical moments, this one was also immortalized by cinema.
Here’s a list of some Portuguese and international films about April 25 to remind us of the day we call “Freedom Day”.
1 – The Hour of Freedom

2 – Captains of April

3 – 25 minutes of a Revolution
