“Aqui vou eu para a Costa, aqui vou cheio de pica…”. Em agosto, a música dos Peste & Sida costuma fazer mais sentido do que nunca. Mas este ano, se de Lisboa vais fugir, “pró Sol da Caparica”, o melhor é veres primeiro se a tua praia está fechada nesse dia.
Confuso? Nós explicamos. De acordo com o Diário de Notícias, as praias da Costa da Caparica vão ser encerradas à vez, cindo dias cada uma, durante o mês de agosto.
Isto, para depositarem areia nas praias (um milhão de metros cúbicos no total) ao longo de quase quatro quilómetros, entre a Costa de Caparica e a Costa do Vapor. A ideia é evitar o encurtamento cada vez maior do areal.
A Praia da Saúde e a Praia Nova poderão ser as primeiras a encerrar, seguindo-se a do Tarquínio-Paraíso, que deverá estar fechada entre 19 e 24 de agosto. O resto do calendário ainda não está definido.
Os comerciantes da zona já contestaram o timing da decisão, mas o presidente da Junta de Freguesia diz que é “a intervenção só podia ser feita nesta altura do Verão” e que “é urgente fazer isto, pois não podemos ter a cidade exposta no inverno”.
“O bombeamento de areia para terra só pode ser feito com uma ondulação abaixo dos dois metros e o vento também pode influenciar”, explicou ao jornal José Ricardo Martins.
A operação deveria ter começado em maio, mas a falta de um visto do Tribunal de Contas (que ainda não foi dado) obrigou ao adiamento dos trabalhos.
As obras, com um custo superior a 6 milhões de euros, poderão demorar entre um mês e um mês e meio.
